On 10th May 2019, Skills for Employment Programme (सीप) Challenge Fund was launched in Birgunj as one of the सीप priority provinces. Genese was invited to participate and collaborate in the event. Anita Phuyal, the Director of Genese, Niranjan Udas, the Educate Program Lead at Genese, and Amit Nevatia, the Educate Program Lead at Amazon Internet Services Pvt Ltd. (AWS), joined the event.

सीप Challenge Fund is a collaborative effort between the Government of Nepal and Department For International Development (DFID), which is designed to create employment by working with the government, private sector employers, education institutions, and young people to carry out innovative employment interventions. UKaid सीप has aimed to support at least 90,000 Nepalese with employment outcomes and strengthen the links between the private sector, education institutions, and the workers. They have given priority to two provinces of Nepal; provinces 2 and 5. Their priorities have also been distributed among five different categories, including:

  1. Commercial Agriculture
  2. Tourism
  3. Hydropower/Construction
  4. Information Communication Technology (ICT)
  5. Light Manufacturing

Genese has taken the सीप Challenge and aims at providing training to more than 4 thousand students in the targeted provinces.

During the event, we provided our input on how a private organization like us could provide assistance to deliver the knowledge and skills to the youth of the province so that they could get a job, generate higher income, and start their own initiation to create even more jobs. We proposed a plan to teach the college students and teachers about Cloud Computing with the help of AWS Educate program, the Province Government, सीप, and the colleges. Our aim is to generate a strong cloud workforce so that they can fulfill the need of the growing market in the near future. The idea was presented by Niranjan Udas amidst all the attendees in the event.

On 11th May 2019, the same idea was presented in detail to the Province Government, Mayors, Ministers, सीप committee members, and other attendees by Amit Nevatia and Niranjan Udas.

We aim to provide Cloud Computing education to as many enthusiasts as possible since it is such a growing area in the IT industry that seems to be expanding exponentially. We welcome any suggestions and support from individuals and institutions to help us achieve our goal. If you represent any college in Nepal who is making an effort to provide this knowledge to your students, feel free to contact us. It allows us to support you in your endeavor.
